  • Photoshop CS3 for images/banners/logos
  • FTP Commander since its a pretty fast FTP app
  • Notepad2 since it code friendly
  • Macromedia Dreamweaver MX sometimes when dealing with HTML
what about you? Would be interesting what you guys use so we can all learn from each other.

PS: i heard XARA was good but never tried it, and GIMP, never thought of it, anyone has it?

I mostly use Dreamweaver CS3 for my web pages, Photoshop CS3 for images, and SmartFTP for... well, FTP.

I have used GIMP before. In my experience, it's an excellent alternative to Photoshop if you're not willing to shell out for it.

I still use Photoshop 7.0 and it does everything i need it to. I also use Dreamweaver MX and as far as ftp goes, I do trial periods of higher rated ftp clients whenever needed. I use Indesign as well but thats for the catalog I've been working for on my 2nd job.

I use Photoshop CS3, Dreamweaver CS3, and surprisingly most of the time I code my website through cPanel's own Code Editor. I think is much faster as you can update your code much faster.

I use:
. Eclipse PDT
. Programmer's Notepad
. XAMPP
. FileZilla 3
. SQLyog Community Edition
Don't do much graphics design, but I have:
. Paint.NET
. Inkscape - don't know jack about vector art, but it's fun to play around with
. GIMP

All open source and [legally] free.
SQLyog is the only program that isn't wholly free.

@satheesh
what do you mean "Mozilla for test."? If your doing a webSite for a client you have to Test in Mozilla, Internet Explorer, Opera and AOL. For example I stop using FireFox and started using Opera.

About me I use pretty much all the same programs as most.
Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, Filezilla, most of the time I FTP with Dreamweaver.

I use all the adobe apps:
1) Dreamweaver CS3 for coding.
2) Photoshop CS3 for Imaging
3) Fireworks CS3 for banners.
4) Flash Pro CS3 for flash.
5) Notepad because it take forever for Dreamweaver to load.

I tend to stray away from any Dreamweaver kind of programs, since they don't understand the way CSS laysout the divs. Well my version didn't atleast..
but in any case I use:

*Photoshop
*Illustrator
*Flash
*Notepad2
*XAMPP
*ColorBlender (for making color schemes)
*myself xD

I use:

Notepad ++ (nice highlighting, fast and simple when writing CSS, XHTML and PHP)

FileZilla for FTP, a little ugly but it does the job well enough

The GIMP for graphic design, I don't do much work in it and it crashes on closing sometimes on Windows XP, but it does what I need.

All free, all easy to use.
