How to add a non-co.cc address to a co.cc-powered account?

I think it is due to .co.cc domain that my website hosted at x10hosting is unreachable, as FTP is working ok. Is there a way to access a website in a more direct way?

Or is it Chopin server having issues for last two days?

depends on how you entered the co.cc address... if you put it in as your main address, you need to go to your account panel and change that, if you put it as an addon or parked domain through cpanel you still have the x10 related subdomain you requested when you signed up so you can simply use that.

Note that wordpress for instance silently redirects to the address specified when installing, no matter what addy you got there with, other scripts might do the same. And if that is the case, you'd need to sort the config of that script (in the wordpress case, you need to alter the database to change that)

Well, yeah, I've used the .co.cc domain as a main one during registration (stupid me). I've just followed your advice and changed the 'main' url and just parked .co.cc in cPanel. Thanks a lot! Now I'll be able to see if it's just Chopin's problem or the .co.cc

It's not a Wordpress' problem (I'm not even using Wordpress here) and the website works fine sometimes and sometimes not (also confirmed with http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/).

I took up wordpress as an example because if you have any script that works the same way, the problem would be there no matter what address you typed in (that is pointed to that script) if it is a domain issue, as it would attempt to redirect you to that address

I agree - to a point. It would not redirect me to anywhere (no matter what I'd have in the standard .htaccess) in case of using the subdomain on port 2082 (cPanel) - so that's a great way to check if the server is up or not.

PS. Is there a way to check server's state? http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/x10staff.co.cc/status/ tells me that it's not just me not being able to see http://x10staff.co.cc/status/

cpanel can be accessible while website is not (if apache is down for instance) so just checking if you can reach cpanel doesn't really cover it.

Not sure where you can check the services, other then I think you can check in the irc channel, at least there's a bot there for it, just don't know if it is for all to use. Also I think you could find this information in account panel (I'm on paid nowadays so I can not check weather that's true or not) There should be a page somewhere, but I have no idea what address it is on.

But if cPanel is down, then the whole server is down (and I'm not that sure that cPanel would be up if Apache is down). And if I can get into cPanel, I can visit the Server Status page (at http://your.cpanel.url:2082/frontend/x3/status.html with x3 skin)(Lol, Server Load 13.74 (4 cpus) ATM!).

Could you point me to the IRC channel? In the plain text format, I have mIRC client, I don't want any Java-based trash. And are you referring to the x10Hosting panel located here: http://x10hosting.com/panel.php ? In that case, I don't see any info about the server status (if it's about cPanel, then yes, there is server info, but my cPanel wasn't reachable yesterday at some point of time).

Yes, if cpanel is down, the whole server would be, but I recall apache being down while cpanel being up... I'll admit I could be wrong though

I though there would be info at http://x10hosting.com/panel.php, there was info before the redesign at least so I just assumed it'd still be there

IRC info:
server: irc.x10hosting.com
channel: #offtopic

No, turns out you're right. Chopin's Apache was down yesterday, but cPanel was up.

Well, there might have been some info, but either it's gone now or I'm blind (which could be still possible, I tend to misread some words, I could have missed some info as well).

IRC info:
server: irc.x10hosting.com
channel: #offtopic
While you're right about the server, the channel is #x10hosting. And the "Fuzzy: status" message will trigger the bot to check servers. That's really useful and admins there react quickly to errors, so thanks again for pointing me to IRC here!
