Account creation - (bad username error in setup)

Hello,
When I created my free account last night, I selected a usernameassword combination that was invalid. The automatic account creation was aborted and I was told to re-create an account. When I tried to do that this morning, I am told, "The email address you have supplied is not available." in Step 3 of the New Account creation process. Since this is the original email address I used to create the account, I presume it is not allowing a second account to be created.
I do not know how to create a new hosting account and link it to an already existing forum account. Can you please help.

if you have an optional e-mail address you can use that would be good.

Eventually the record of your e-mail will be purged as there was no hosting account created, but I think it'll remain in system a day or two (the time you normally get to confirm your e-mail address). I do not have access to remove it from the system though.

A few steps into the process you are asked to either create a forum account or add details of an existing one.

Isn't the email address linked to the forum account?

What I want to do is keep the forum account and create a hosting account (I have errors because there is none linked to that account.

Is there a way to create a new hosting account from an existing forum account?

You can have separate e-mails for forum and hosting account as they are separate accounts, with a soft link between them.

Yes you can create a new hosting account and attach it to the existing forum account. At step 5 you are asked to either create a new forum account or fill in details of your existing forum account. See the highlighted areas.
