I have been trying to setup a free host account for 2 weeks and the registration email never arrives, no matter what email address I enter for it to go to. I have tried cancelling the account, which was supposed to happen after 72 hours, but that did not happen either. SO I can't cancel the account and try again, I can't get the registration email-- something is broken. How do we resolve this? I would appreciate a prompt reply

Did you check your spam folder? What email are you trying to sign up with?

I see that you already do have an hosting account, which was created back in 2010, each individual is only allowed to have one account, so you really should not try to get an additional one as that would put you in violation with our ToS.

I have checked SPAM, on all addresses I tried. The email simply never is sent. As for more than one account, they are setup around email addresses, correct? So how is having different sites under different email addresses a violation of TOS? A person can create an unlimited number of gmail accounts and sign up for any number of hosting accounts. How would you know if it were the same person or not? In setting up a free account, I am restricted by the limitations of the host: number of databases, sub domains, email accounts etc.
I do some development work and use x10 to test a number of things, and when the testing is done, I really have no use for the "domain" and would like to be able to just change that as needed, but that is not possible either. I often have more than one project going at the same time and need to have more than one account for test purposes. That is why I am trying to set up another account. Now if I had the ability to simply change the domain name of an account that might solve some of my issues. If not then I can go get another gmail address and create the account there.
BTW, I have used x10 prior to 2010 probably since 2008, and I have had more than one free hosted site on a number of occasions.
I understand your business really is to sell hosting and I support that. I have sites hosted elsewhere and not here because I have a lot of choices and find x10 is not competitive and does not support what I need to do. That might change in the future, but for now I will do my testing here and hosting elsewhere.

If you let us know what you would like the domain to be changed into, we can help out with that part, as long as it is not gonna be once every few days :) We removed the option from account control because it often created a bit of a mess when some users decided to try new domains every few minutes, as well as the fact it was then allowed to use a third party domain as main, which we do not allow at all at this time, to ensure there's at least one domain working.

And while it may not be easy to find out that someone has two, or more, accounts, in the event we would however, then they both (all) risk suspension for ToS violation.

As for finding out why emails not get through, we would need to know what email address you are using to sign up, that's the only way we can check logs to see why it wasn't properly sent.

change GRH.EXOFIRE.NET to SSIG.X10HOST.COM.

Send me a secure email and I can give you the email addresess I tried to have the registration email sent to.

BTW I have the options on this message set to receive notifications when replies are posted and that is not working either.
