Shell access on Free Hosting?

Is there any way to get shell access on the free hosting? When I try on PuTTY and it says if you need shell access, please contact support which makes it sound like it might be possible.. Or is this just a standard response?

We can't offer shell access on our free hosting service, due to the abuse this feature attracts. Shell access is only permitted on x10Premium. The message you're seeing is the standard one cPanel sends for accounts with disabled shell access; sorry for the trouble.
