For the past few days I have been unable to access both my website and cPanel.
Whenever I go to my website I get various errors (depending on which browser I use).

A few examples:

  1. Microsoft Edge - accessing website
    gWUVImO.png
  2. Internet Explorer - accessing website
    tTzrM4r.png
  3. Mozilla Firefox #1 - accessing website

  4. Mozilla Firefox #2 - accessing another part of website
    iKwUKe2.png
  5. All browsers - accessing cPanel

The third and fourth picture seem to suggest that there's a problem with MySQL. Unfortunately, I have no idea what the problem is exactly and I can't do anything to remedy the problem myself, which is why I'm posting this thread here.

Why is this happening? Are X10hosting staff aware of this problem and is there a fix underway? Is this an isolated problem, or are others also having problems accessing their website and cPanel?

I prefer not to post my website's address here. If all is well, my forum account should be linked to my hosting account, so you guys can find my website that way if you need it.

Hi,

On free hosting, every account has a hard limit of 50,000 files total, to help prevent abuse. While it is very rare for accounts to do this, it looks like you have hit this limit, which is why cPanel is showing the EDQUOT (quota hit) message, and most likely why your website isn't loading properly. If you can, please try connecting through FTP, and remove any un-needed files.

Thank you,

@Dead-i I'm afraid I'm not able to connect through FTP. These are the settings I'm using:

Host: ftp.[website].x10.mx
Username: admin@[website].x10.mx
Password: same as account portal password

Are those the correct settings, or am I doing something wrong?
I tried some other passwords that I used in the past, in case that was the problem, but they don't work either.

Log:
Code:
Status: Resolving address of ftp.[website].x10.mx
Status: Connecting to 198.91.81.3:21...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Status: Initializing TLS...
Status: Verifying certificate...
Status: TLS connection established.
Command: USER admin@[website].x10.mx
Response: 331 User admin@[website].x10.mx OK. Password required
Command: PASS ************
Response: 530 Login authentication failed
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server
Status: Disconnected from server

@bdistler I removed a bunch of redundant e-mails a while ago, don't think there are many left now. I'll still have a look at it, though, once I'm able to access my website.

Are those the correct settings...

Host: (your account's primary (main) domain) or (your server's IP address) - Port: 21

Protocl: FTP - File Transfer Protocol

Encryption: Use plain FTP

Logon Type: Normal

User: (your cPanel user name)

Password: (your cPanel password)

Thanks @bdistler, that did the trick (I suppose I mixed up e-mail and FTP login settings at first).

I've deleted some files (never knew Joomla generated so much cruft while updating/installing extensions) and now everything's working again. Huzzah!
