Hi there, my website www.jolazo.com (jolazo.x10host.com) has been down since yesterday. From reading other posts, I gather the old server has gone away which is why it's no longer available. I'm not using Cloudflare and don't know what an A record is. I know my site is now on x13 and I know I have the DNS Servers down with Baremetal (hosting company that I registered the domain through) as follows:
Primary: ns2.x10hosting.com
Secondary: ns1.x10hosting.com

I'm not very savvy with these things unfortunately. Is there something else I need to do to get my site back up?

Looks like your account didn't transfer properly, your site loaded from the old servers up until they were taken offline the other day which is why that part was working up until now.

Since you use our name servers, you don't need to make any changes to the domain.

I'll start sorting out the account and let you know as soon as the account has been sorted

Your account has now been restored from our most recent backup.

Let us know if you find something that doesn't work properly.

I just checked www.jolazo.com and it still comes back with a timeout error...? however, jolazo.x10host.com comes up okay and appears alright except that the links using "jolazo.com" don't work. Would this be a DNS propagation thing?

Both domains work fine for me and show the same content.

I'd say it is likely a combination of DNS and cache, clearing browser cache (or forcing a reload without cache, often done by pressing ctrl+f5), can help.

Okay I have discovered that http://jolazo.com does work but http://www.jolazo.com does not. I think this is because the pointer is set to jolazo.com, rather than www.jolazo.com. I don't know if setting the pointer to www.jolazo.com will allow for both, but the discussion at the following url does suggest this might be the case (if your servers configured the same?):

One other problem I'm having is that I originally had a subdomain for the mobile version of my website. The subdomain is "m.jolazo.com" and is actually accessed by a rewrite rule in the .htaccess file at http://jolazo.x10host.com/m. I seem to recall cobbling this together long ago, but I don't remember how I came across it. Right now when I try to go to http://jolazo.com/m I get a 403 Forbidden error and when I try to go to m.jolazo.com it says it can't connect.

Both with and without www works fine from my end right now.

The option for /m would now work, there was an update to the folder permissions that was needed, due to difference in how things are handled in DirectAdmin compared to cPanel.

m.jolazo.com will not work right now as there is no such subdomain created in the account.

A drawback from a pointer domain rather then parked as cPanel used is the pointed ONLY duplicates what is on the domain it points to, this means you'll need to create the subdomain m.jolazo.x10host.com for that to work.

Hi Anna, just a follow-up: I have created the m.jolazo.x10host.com subdomain and all is working as expected. Overnight the problems with the www prefix appear to have resolved for me so it must have been a DNS propagation issue. Everything is now working as expected; thank you so much for your help and patience getting my site back up and running. You're the best! :)

Glad to hear it is now working as expected.

I'll mark this as resolved but leave the thread open a couple days just in case.
