Eventually. We've been focused on a few large projects the last few months that have taken up most of our time. I want to upgrade sometime relatively soon. There are some compatibility issues that we need to work out solutions for before this can happen though.

Wait until you get in some higher level courses focusing on more than learning a language or OOP concepts, that's when you'll start to have fun. :P For my "intro" CS sequence I felt the same way. Then I switched to electrical engineering so I could have even more fun.

This is wrong. We have firewalls on every server of ours, and all ports that are not explicitly in use by use are closed, both inbound and outbound.
