New things to look out for...

The most affordable computer today can do almost the same thing as a mid-level machine. That is the basic web surfing, writing programs, spreadsheets, etc. It might take longer to load in certain situations, but it'll get the easy stuff done. So we're not looking at those buyers. This was...

    Best computer shop!

I stick to NewEgg.com, TigerDirect.com They are similar to a Costco/Sam's Club for computer parts. They sell things a little above wholesale price, which can be a couple hundred cheaper than brick-and-mortar stores. For custom-built computers, IBuyPower.com seems good and has had good reviews.

    Computer Debate

Second Response (to Sup3rkirby): Well the best pc for that price range will be hand built... there is no argument there. I think with any computer, he wants to know what would be the best bang for the buck, seeing as he doesn't have a lot of buck to toss around. The truth is that the...

    PC Specs

Wowie, I hope that's not the Prescott model 2.8E - I had that and it got hot real fast. Could only overclock to 3.1 or 3.2, but keep it at 3.0 just to be safe. What I got when it was new (July 2006)*: Processors and Board Core 2 Duo E6600 2.40GHz, 4MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB XFX PV-T71G-UCF7...

New things to look out for...

I think you misinterpreted, or did not read everything I wrote. Response The first thing I would like to say is that this is for the at-home buyer. While quantum computers will be nice for large-scale processing, they won't impact the at-home market for a good long while. The best scenario...

Install Google's Android in your Mobile today !

Yes, but it is primarily built for the mobile-phone market. Google is playing a big role in standardizing larger screen widths. Why? Because their advertisement software generates billions of dollars. Incorporating this into the mobile-phone industry will help to skyrocket their sales.

New things to look out for...

Well the whole thing has been driven by the ability to produce smaller materials. We quickly went from a 90 -> 65 -> 45 and soon 33. All I was trying to say is that if you were looking at updating your computer, keep all this in mind because the next "newest and greatest" will be worth the...

    Computer Debate

The best bet is to build it yourself. If you don't know how, then you should get someone else to. There is a decent site online that takes high-end parts and puts them together for prices a little bit more than NewEgg or TigerDirect, which themselves are close to wholesale prices. The site is...

New things to look out for...

Introduction It is not news that manufacturers are continually coming out with better processors, faster memory, and smaller components. What is news is how quickly they are advancing and the repercussions from it. By the end of this and next year, the home computing technology will experience...

Microsoft using pirated software to make windows XP

Not sure if I agree with this. Just because it's embedded in the file doesn't mean so much... maybe Deepz0ne works at Microsoft!! :) Or it could be a message that says... "sorry Deepz0ne, better luck next time" ha Either way, it's an interesting read.

    Inactivity Suspension

What are the rules on suspended accounts again? They get suspended for inactivity but how are you seen as "active"? Like are you active if you just log in, or if you post on the forum, or do you have to upload a file? If anyone can point me to the rules, that'd be great. Thanks guys! :)

Oh thank you so much verbsite. I've added to your reputation. Do you know by any chance what your resolution on the main computer is. I think I was using em for the size, I might have to make it a fixed size.

    Review my test site

Can you take a screenshot? I'm not having that problem at all with the menu. As for the sidebar, I'm not sure what you're talking about. Are you talking about the images on the right? If so, I agree, but this is a test-site so i just did a little teaser to see if anything like the menu...
