Make sure that the Username you're using to login to it is your cPanel username, and not username@judedodd.com, and of course use your cPanel password for the password.

There's no set amount of times that we reboot the servers, but we usually have 99.9% uptime. But as you mentioned, we've been having many problems with cPanel and DNS issues lately.

DNS Entries aren't automatically deleted, so the problem was that your subdomain hadn't been removed from the DNS records although your account no longer existed. But it sounds like fedlerner removed it, so you should be able to sign up again.
