The desktop I'm sure is outperforming the laptop in every aspect. Might be the way you guys have your hardware tuned and software set up that makes the laptop seem to be quicker. Either that or your friend is simply not utilizing his quad/hardware fully.

Definitely find a way to check the server with another printer to make sure USB lights up. It's hard to imagine that it would just stop working with a printer all of a sudden even with a bit of tinkering to it.

Can't think of anything off of the top of my head. Does the unit have any form of built-in diagnostics? Does it give any interesting readings?

Do you have another printer to try using on the print server? We need to rule that out as well since you have ruled out the printer's USB port already by verifying it works with a PC. I asked Corey about the same thing, except instead of the VPSs or paid hosting, the servers for the Staff/Free Hosting to have IPv6 addresses as well. Reason I asked was due to the fact that I couldn't find any AAAA records for any x10Hosting name.
