That's because the good developers have been sucked up by the big companies - that's what those companies do best! And the developer prefer to work for cash, rather than for free... I agree I have noticed that too, especially with flash games - there used to be many independent devs, but now...

They're up to something, but it's not code that they have stolen...they write better code than MS anyway, so why would they want to steal the code? They re-wrote the javascript engine from scratch for Chrome (Note it IS a fair bit faster than IE). Therefore I voted "no".

If you have signed up for it, can you tell which these merchants are? I found one site I could buy things from without using vbv, but the other sites I have used all used vbv. For example the most annoying ones are the rail companies - I couldn't get any (cheap) advance tickets for train travel...
