Sure, if you'd rather pay for junk than get some solid software for free, I won't stop you. :biggrin: But let me point out that windos has copied many things from linux including the multiuser feature. Windos still isn't very good at that.

Pong v3, never heard of it, so I can't really tell you how well it was coded. Contrary to what the Dos monsters tell you, you don't have to read a text book to use linux. And linux IS original. Mine looks similar to a mac BEACAUSE I customized it to look like a mac. I can customize it resemble...

Yeah, you have a point. Some people don't really use their computers for anything so it's not a problem if it BSODs every time they boot it up. Oh well, that's not my problem. :D

Linux is nowhere near being short of missing drivers. Every thing I've ever tried to do on linux I've accomplished WITHOUT spending hours hunting for drivers. Maybe I haven't made this this clear enough: The only important thing that Windows can do that Linux can't is BSOD every 10...

Of course it's occurred to me. I've done it myself before. But linux is unhackable. :biggrin:

So if he wants to spend the money on a mac, he'll be able to triple boot it with winDos and linux. As long as his winDos disk is not an OEM version, it will run fine on macs. One note to remind your brother, there is only 1 mouse button on the mac, so to right click in windows or linux install...

You can make applications for the ipod with out needing their coding environment. You just don't get to put it on their appstore. That's all.

It'll last forever because of the way linux is designed. Any malware needs the root password to be able to do harm. Since the normal user account doesn't have access to the root password, malware can never harm whole system, only individual accounts which can be backed up, deleted, and recreated...
