Why do computers in movies always beep??

It's the way Hollywood decides the objects should do, and then they play the same sounds over from their years old sound database. If done properly, they do make it flow with the movie/show, but of course if done incorrectly, it irritates me. All it does is show the computer is actually doing...

    Snow Leopard

Just to throw some extra information, for those of you already running Mac OS X Leopard, Apple is allowing you to upgrade to Snow Leopard for $29 if I'm not mistaken. Whether or not you'll receive a physical disk or it'll be a massive download, I don't know. I unfortunately don't own a Macintosh...

    Anyone use this program...?

:D! It's roughly like that, but it isn't meant to be an Anti-virus program. It's more along the lines of an Anti-Spyware program. When it comes down to it though, anything, whether spyware, viruses, trojans, hijackers, etc are all considered Malware so pretty much you should get the point.

    About Computer

If we do some l33t h4x to the phone, we can do that. Just expect a good two minutes of battery power and some explosions, and of course a heavy pocket

    Who Here Grabbed Windows 7?

The Pentium I box while it was impressive to see Windows 7 running on that did in fact take 15-20 minutes to boot up and be ready to go.

Low cost or free ISP recommendation?

Well, really unless your neighborhood by any chance has a free connection that comes via a WISP (Wireless ISP) or if you're in an apartment that has a T1 line for the tenants to use, you'd have to look into a budget DSL or cable connection. These connections shouldn't cost any more than $20, and...

Feedback: yeah I know this is a "free" service, BUT!

I don't know why your site has been going down, but if you have been on Lotus, that server has practically been online with no issues all summer. It had some issues last week but that was quickly corrected. If you're not on Lotus though, then I can't vouch for uptime.

    Have you ever been banned?

I have had two warnings on my forum account for some posts in crossfire being too short, and I've had my hosting account suspended once back when x10Hosting had their MySQL on one server fiasco and my forum software went into an infinite loop, but other than that, no bans here.

    Media

I've seen some good examples of media. Of course, just like anyone the media can have it's own opinion on things, but people do have the right to find another source of news/content or filter out what is going on and stick to their beliefs. Sure, anyone or anything can be misleading, so I won't...

    Who Here Grabbed Windows 7?

I still have Windows 2000 on some of my PCs here. It's a great operating system despite it no longer being supported and despite it's age.

    Anyone use this program...?

I actually find that running MBAM in conjunction with Avast! Anti-virus and SUPERAntispyware to be a great combo. Of course if you know what you're doing, HijackThis! is a very handy tool as well.

    Windows XP updates

Now that's odd. I've had to nuke a few machines that I've received to take a look at and whenever I run Windows update after setting things up, I'm only offered two updates, which are Windows Updating software update, and Windows Genuine Advantage. After that, even if the system is a Service...

    Get non-free software for free

I believe there are websites out there that have images that will track hurricanes. If there isn't anything that is out there that is free, you could perhaps install Firefox with ReloadEvery and reload the website with the image on it should the image not auto-reload.

    Did IRC Just Go Down?

The IRC server has the tendency to go down every few weeks or so. It seems to happen whenever Windows Updates come out.

    Deleted files on WWW

The www folder is to make it easy for people who are just getting started with web hosting to know where to place their files. All the www folder is, is simply an FTP shortcut that takes you to the public_html folder. It's perfectly fine if you were to delete the www folder, but the public_html...
