Did you make it an addon domain or a parked domain? Use FileManager and look at .htaccess in public_html. You are getting a 302 Redirect from your custom domain to the x10 domain.

The hostname is "localhost" . You do not use the IP address. If your are trying to connect from outside of x10hosting, then there is nothing you can do. Remote access is blocked. No exceptions.
