I set up a subdomain alongside my primary domain. I gave it a folder under 'domains' in my file area. How is it supposed to be accessed by the http client? Should it just be "sub.domain.x10host.com"? Or do I need to actually register a new domain with a registrar, because I only get 1 free one...

Any additional help on this subject? My SQL database has apparently vanished from the server. Any chance of retrieving it?

Was the SQL server moved to a different host? My config points Wordpress to "localhost", which has worked for years.

Any advice on the issue?

It was probably on or before November 29, which was the last time I updated the front page.

From the Cpanel MySQL control panel, I did a checkDB on the database. I get an error message. Error from MySQL query: DBD::mysql::db do failed: Unknown database Something has happened to the database.

I've been running the server for years. It quit last week.

Note: the remainder of the site (html, css, JS) still functions normally.

If I navigate to the wordpress front page, I get the message "Error establishing a database connection" Cpanel still shows the SQL database active. Was there a sort-of-recent change to SQL settings? Why else might this happen?

OK. Cpanel login now requires the entire email address, not just the user name. That's new. Thanks for advertising that update. Thread closed.

Has the port used by cpanel been changed recently?

I get the error "Invalid login information provided."

I know my credentials are still recognized, since I can log into the forum (see?), and also I can ftp to the site. It just seems to be Cpanel that is broken.
