    RFID chip, is it real?

The ID card is fine. The National Identity database it is linked with isn't --> The government are coupling the ID cards to a database full of various information about citizens, which is highly worrying. I can't wait to get rid of my UK citizenship actually...

    html with word

I would reccommend reading a guide like this to learn html properly. An alternative is to use a wysiwyg editor like Kompozer. Definitely don't use word since it inserts a whole load of $%^& into your html, as mattura said.

    Person burnt by McDonald's coffee

I just think this is a perfect example of how stupid some countries are getting... Just like in the UK where you go on a train and every second window has a safety instructions notice, you get told to "mind the step" at every stop, and get told that the aforementioned safety notices are "located...

The battle of the web browsers

I sometimes use Chromium (the FLOSS version of Chrome, i.e Chrome without the Google "spying" built in, which chrome build on), and it is much faster than FF. But even with firefox you can devote even the whole screen to browsing by pressing F11, where the menu and location bars automatically...

    New Hate Crime Legislation

True... if that act were to be making talking about it illegal. But all it does is give violence against these minorities the extra status of hate crime. There is nothing mentioned about speech on the page linked to. But yes, generally the Govts are taking away our freedoms... I wouldn't say so...

    SmallBASIC (v0.7)

That is very true. You might as well learn a "real" language when learning to program. Nowadays, I know a lot of schools in Switzerland teach Java, which is one of the best languages (my opinion) around. You won't get far with Small Basic on your CV. I must admit I do program basic (TI-Basic...

    Virtualization vs Dual Boot

On my old "dual boot" system I somewhow broke Window$ (i.e. I hadn't booted it in about a year, and was doing some backups and testing, decided to see whether it still worked -- it just gave an error on bootup -- that gave me the motivation to completely wipe that partition...). But the number...

In your opinion, what is best about FREE web hosting with x10?

The various languages supported definetely -- maybe I'm behind the times, but many free hosters limit you to php and mysql (and some are static) -- here you can also use bash and you also have cron access which is, simply put, great. I'm not a great fan of having only three addon/subdomains -...

Please help me with this one.

Companies are very real entities, they are legally seen, juristic persons. Microsoft definetely isn't fictional, as much as some may want it to be. Outsourcing is possible, but M$ are a big company, and they probably have a department specifically dealing with sound files , so it is quite...

How often do you visit your site?

Never? Well, I do occasionally (probably every few months) do a "browsing" of my site, and once a week I do a quick check of operational status, but I never really browse it, but that could be partly due to the fact that I'm still building it up, so I spend most of my time doing update + check...

    Page compression (gzip/deflate)

Adding the line SetOutputFilter DEFLATE in .htaccess should make apache compress content, but it doesn't seem to work for me either. Another option is to tell php to encode content, which works here: this line has to be added at the beginning of your php file:ob_start("ob_gzhandler");However...

    PHPMailer error 220

I don't think you have any errors in there: if you switch on debug mode you will simply get a whole load of debugging information, i.e. anything that could be useful if you are trying to fix a problem -- debugging mode is for when you are developing a site or software -- this information isn't...

    http://stoli.x10hosting.com:2082 not working

Works fine for me. It was probably just a cpanel upgrade/downgrade. See here.

Domain name point to website on everyDNS

Edit:// Ignore this post. This is the "standard" way of doing DNS, I have never had any other DNS experience using other providers. It probably is a simpler method, however you do get finer control using everyDNS, and sharky's guide (next post) tells you how to use everyDNS and similar to get...

Which social networking sites do you like??

Me too... But it seems to have been working fine recently. (Haven't tested chat in ages though, which was really bad at times.) I really don't like the new news/live feed page style though, it is both confusing and annoying. (What is the point in having two feeds where some posts are shared, and...

What do you choose for your blogging platform? Blogger or Wordpress?

I am of the exact same opinion. If I had a blog, I would use Wordpress, or possibly some other FLOSS blogging software. I have tried both WP and blogger, and must say Blogger is *slightly* more "noob" friendly (i.e. it doesn't require any installation), but in everything else WP beats it.

    What's your favourite Operating System?

GNU/Linux is what the OS is called, since GNU provides the actual tools making the Kernel useful, i.e. producing an OS. Distros are just packaged versions of GNU (tools) and Linux (kernel). That is also my favourite OS because of the choice you have to do everything the way you want... and the...

Please help me with this one.

There's also a former backdoor which MS allegedly deliberately left in XP and newer using Windows Meta files (now patched since some cracker discovered it...). Read here.

How can I stop bots from following certain links on my site

If you list every single link you don't want visited it might work. However, from what I have heard, google at least, still follow the link, but don't index it.

How can I stop bots from following certain links on my site

There's a good guide here. However not all bots will keep to what you ask, so be warned that it might not end everything. And I'm not sure about wildcards in the path you specify though.
