MAC vs Windows vs Linux For Students

If you do it on a Mac it's very easy. Your Mac will come with Mac OSX installed so all you do is run BootCamp Assistant and it'll guide you through installing the other OS, it's a very easy process. Then you can choose one of the OSs as a primary (into which it boots by default) and choose the...

MAC vs Windows vs Linux For Students

If he can afford a Mac then that's his best bet - just use Boot Camp to install a Windows partition on it for gaming. This way he'd have the best of both (or by creating a partition for Linux the best of all 3 worlds). If he can't afford a Mac then he should get a PC with Windows. If he...

    Sony VAIO vs. HP

But unlike software that comes with Windows, Mac software is the full edition and actually very nice. You get the iLife and the iWork suites completely free. iWork is the equivalent of Microsoft Office (though I prefer it a little bit more due to the user interface, I have it and Office...

    Mac or PC

Alexander, that was a long time ago. Remember Windows 95 or 98? That, too, was rubbish. My Mac can run 100% of the software out there with no modification, isn't that better than 97%? (We're not including ancient software I hope, one that no modern machine could run, correct?) Ichwar, I could...

    Mac or PC

Definitely Mac for me. I used to only use Windows (for around 8 years) but then got a Mac and now I cringe when I have to use my Dell. To those who say PCs have more compatible software, I tell you this: Mac has more compatible software. I can run all Mac, Windows, and Linux programs on my...

    Sony VAIO vs. HP

I've always liked Sony laptops but if you're going the high-end route get a MacBook Pro instead. Now, before I get attacked by people saying Macs are overpriced - you get what you pay for. Though you may find it hard to believe I was also one of those people who swore by Windows and argued...

    smf Or phpbb

My preference is phpBB 3 > SMF 1 > phpBB 2. I loved phpBB 3 when I used it and hated version 2. I used SMF at some point but was never too fond of it - though like many have said, the add ons are much easier to install.

    Search Engine

I, like everyone else here apparently, use Google. I've tried Bing twice and liked it but not enough to leave the company that provides almost every online tool I use.

Which Operating System do you prefer?

I'd have to put them in this order: 1. Mac OSX Leopard 2. Linux 3. Windows XP (runs through bootcamp or parallels on my MacBook Pro) 4. Vista Vista is just plain terrible though, it uses up way too many resources and still doesn't achieve the friendly experience Leopard gives you. I used...

    Battle of the Browsers

I've always been a FireFox user (and still love FireFox 3) but lately I've started using Safari for its speed. Both in startup and page loading it blows FireFox out of the water. Chrome is nice too and I use it on my Dell laptop but Safari for Mac is superior, in my opinion.

    Free Hosting Uptime

Indeed, well done. I just came here from a different free host and I must say I'm very impressed so far. The resources are much more limited here but at least I get to use them, that services (not going to say the name) was horrendous with its up-time. I think I may like this community enough to...
