    New group for pro designers

So I assume its an "I live off/support myself by being a web designer" rather than a "I've done/am doing a project which I am getting paid for." type of thing? If that's the case, I doubt there will be a lot of people. Most people here probably couldn't be called pros. It is a free hosing...

    Check it out

Like the posts before me, it is to boring. I do like the cleanness of the design, but there is to much white and text and little else. A logo would help, as would some graphics along with a little more colors. I would also look into increasing the text size a little bit, it is a tad hard to...

    Reviwe my site.

First you need to use title tags. Second, I'm not a fan of the design. The colors don't really go together, and the entire thing seems kinds in-cohesive.

What defines a "professional" designer? Most people on the forum probably wouldn't call themselves professional...

    Please review my website

It looks nice. I like the print feel it has. The one thing I would suggest doing is turning your internal scripts and styles into external documents

    Review My Website

The theme is nice, but when I look at it, it doesn't scream "Aviation." I would look into a more aviation based template, but that's just me. I do think you should state the purpose of the site somewhere near the top. It doesn't need to be much, but enough to give people the idea of what the...

    Document type?

I use XHTML strict. XHTML is far far cleaner than HTML and once you get the hang if it is a lot easier to use.

    Please review my site

You could use a CMS like Wordpress, Joomla, etc to get a log in feature. You could also use php and make a log in script. If you don't have any knowlage of php, nor the desire to learn any, I would go to the CMS route.

    Getting Good In Photoshop?

I made a tutorial on how to make a web template in GIMP awhile back, its not the best, but it should cover some things. http://sourfacedcyclop.com/2009/making-a-cool-layout-in-gimp/ Also, google it, you'll finds lots of stuff

Any other information? Color preference, approx, number of pages. Do you have any graphics or anything which could be used for the site? Would it be HTML/CSS, just the image layout, or something larger? More info would be nice :)

Making a website template in GIMP

I personally use an unordered list, which is then styled with CSS. To get the image, you need to set a background image to parent element of your anchor tag.

    Internet Explorer

you can get by without supporting IE6, but if you want a serious website, you have to supoort IE. If you show a message like that, most IE users will just say screw it and leave to never come back.

    Internet Explorer

You can't not support IE, WAY to many people use it. IE7 isn't to hard to work with, and IE8 is even better. IE6 is the problem. Unfortunately, over 10% of people still use IE6, so when building a website for a company, not supporting that many people can be a problem

    Internet Explorer

That is one of them, but lets say you want a box which is 50% of the window width. You need an overall top container to define the width, a top left image, a top middle image and a top right image. Next you need the middle section which holds the content. Then you need to the bottom container...

    Review My Site

I would give the two content area's some left and right padding respectively, they are to close to the edge of the main bg area. I would ditch the buttons, they just don't look very good... Some places seem a bit to shadow heavy. I'm not a huge fan of the blue swirl things either...

Need Help with Creating School(ASB) Site

Wordpress is probably the easiest CMS to theme. I can offer some help if you need it, but I would look into This Site, they have a great series of screencasts to learn wordpress stuff and also the Wordpress codex as well. If you have anymore problems, most people here on the forum will be...

Need Help with Creating School(ASB) Site

Wordpress is a great CMS, which a lot of people underestimate. With the ability to use custom fields, custom query's, and individual page templates, Wordpress is the CMS I use the most. To start off, do you have any web design experience? Are you proficient in Photoshop, GIMP or a similar...
