The installer only took 4 1/2 minutes to download here, but I'm not going to install the file from SoftPedia just so I don't break anything (which I'll have to spend time to fix). I'll wait until Automatic Updates comes up with it.

WINE itself is a nice program. It's been able to run loads of Windows games with very little difference, and it's being improved all the time, so go for it. WINE may have some weak points, but if you find one, look around for a fix or ask for a new feature.

Did you used to use SMF with a domain name at all? It looks like SMF's URL location may be set wrong. Try running the repair_settings.php file found at the Simple Machines website and see if that fixes it.
