Anyone who is on the Lotus server read this!

I think it might be a CPanel related issue, I can't access mine at the moment.

    VPS hosting and script memory

I think you'll be fine on the 128mb since php probably won't make your usage jump up crazy high for long times and since javascript is client-side.

Anyone who is on the Lotus server read this!

I'm starting to think you made the whole thing up -.- Kinda like how I made up all of x10 being down yesterday

Running perl from php page ??

the phpinfo() function is currently disabled, so I can't check if the perl extension is installed. Right now, I believe it isn't. You're right about installing it, only an admin who has access to php.ini and the php installation directory can fix this.

    php info()

phpinfo() is disabled like mail() is currently. I don't know why anyone would need phpinfo() because it just dumps the php configuration to the user. There's nothing else it can do. I suppose you could buffer the output, do a search for some element within the output, delete everything that...

    php memory allowed size?

This happened to me recently. Turns out I was calling my error reporting class from my database class. But, the error reporter was trying to call the database class to log the error. Infinite loop, as Smith6612 pointed out :)

What does your game use? Java?

    VPS hosting and script memory

The other thing to consider is there are no GUI's or any other applications that eat up memory like a normal computer. 128mb sounds low, but it's pretty big since nothing is really running except the OS and server stuff. I just checked my laptop and I'm using 750 mb / 1gb ram. I was going to...

    VPS hosting and script memory

You should be OK on RAM unless you're going CRAZY with resources. I checked CentOS's page to see what the recommended RAM is for CentOS5 and it's 128MB http://www.centos.org/product.html

    Formal Apology

Good for you. I'm sure all the staff appreciate your apology. Though I'm also sure you're not nearly the worst customer they've dealt with ;)

    outages

I don't know how some people had no problem and some did. I couldn't ping anything on X10 and neither could many other people I asked to try for me nor could I access X10 through any proxy service I tried. My free account and paid account weren't accessible and neither were the cpanels for...

    VPS hosting and script memory

I think the limits on the scripts are set by the parser (ie, PHP) configuration, which you have control over on a VPS.

    outages

Anyone else notice all of X10 was dead for a while here? I'm thinking it has to do with this: http://forums.x10hosting.com/service-alerts/98946-backend-system-issues.html But I thought it'd be fun to take bets before Corey comes on and lets us know what tried to kill X10 today.

    is the domain co.cc

I don't think search engines pay much attention to top level domains. Meaning .com .net .org don't make a difference. co.cc is not a top level domain, it is a sub domain of .cc, so you may take a loss from being a sub-sub domain, but I don't know. Search engine algorithms are extremely complex...

    Backup Issues

It never rains, but it pours, huh? Everything else seems to be going fantastically well on X10 besides this  Thanks for the updates, it really helps a lot!

    Michael Jackson reported dead

Re: Micheal Jackson reported dead Don't forget Athletes up there on your soap box :rant2: I worship you, is that what I'm supposed to do? Too bad he died at really the worst time for him; broke and still in the shadow of some pretty nasty legal issues. He left $80,000,000 USD in...

What is your opinion about the best operating system for desktop/laptops ?

I think you should also consider resource usage. Windows is a notorious hog by default and linux is very efficient by default. Depending on how you configure either, you can change the final numbers a lot in either favor.

    Ages of X10 users

I'm the same age as the main man big C! (well close)

    Modify Post Headers

I think post is a one way street. It's strictly from client->server. Maybe you can use a form with hidden inputs and use a javascript form.submit() to "refresh" the page? It may be better to find a different solution because yours sounds like its getting more complicated than it aught to be :)
