I just tell the forum to "remember me" and I never have to log in unless I log out. Too bad there's not that option for the account panel or cpanel.

The linking refers to you having multiple services (forum, free hosting, paid hosting, etc) linked together logically, not with the same user name and password. As of yet, there is no possible way to use one login. I don't think this will change because CPanel and VBulletin don't share the same...

I was wondering that myself. Not that anyone would want to steal my domain name, but it would suck if someone waited for the exact second your domain expired and got it before you. I think the issue is since the domains are mostly free, they want to recycle the inactive ones back into the pool...

I really like SMF. It worked well for me. All of the links you provided are dead for me. The only reason I could see you having this problem is if your .htaccess file is bad.
