Unfortunately once an account is terminated, the backups are also deleted.
To be able to check for sure if it is termiinated you'd need to give us the cPanel user name that he had, seeing as you created a new forum account we can not look it up using that either.

Short story: Due to a failing disk we had to do some emergency maintenance, which in this case means moving everything to a new server.
If no longer have an hosting account with us, we can not do anything about your domain.
If you had your personal domain pointed to your account here, you'll need to change the configuration at your domain registrar to reflect you host change.
This should now be sorted, the issue was caused by the fact the directory name had uppercase letters by the look of it, there was a mapping with all lowercase letters for the directory name in the config file.
Due to this I wont swear that in case of config file being rebuilt this won't come...
