I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but I think FireFox is so popular because it was the fastest browser since it's release (but it was beat by Chrome), and because of it's availablility of themes and addons.

Gmail is really good, I love it, but the best non-free one for me would be Comcast, but I hate their webmail service, so I use Outlook 03, or Thunderbird.

I think Windows XP is the best, because I've been with it for my whole life (I was with 98 for awhile but I did not like it much) though I do like Windows 7.
