403 Forbidden message when running my cgi script

Hello everyone,

I have a serious problem with my website, which has been develope quite a few years ago to run a special and a relatively simple Perl CGI script for biological research purposes. It has never happened exactly like that before and I am not sure what the problem is. The problem is the following:

Instead of the output, my script page opens
http://zeogs.x10.bz/cgi-bin/zeogs.cgi

and has the following message:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/zeogs.cgi on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I checked permissions and could not see anything strange.

I would appreciate any help with this and would also be willing to upgrade the account if this would help keep the website running smoothly as there were alleady a few people complaining that the website is down.

I'm sorry, but we do not support Perl on free hosting. We only support PHP on our free hosting service.

It's been a very long time. If you've been able to run Perl at all recently, it's been because of a server misconfiguration. (Perl is installed because it's required for admin/maintenance features, etc., but Free Hosting account holders shouldn't have access to it. Besides the foot-guns, there are too many potential security holes in the language core that can't be conveniently disabled as they can be in PHP.) There is only one sever-side scripting option on Free Hosting, and that's PHP. If you absolutely need to run Perl, you'd need to move to a paid plan (Premium or VPS).
