500 internal server error - help

I apologise if this has been answers else where but I don't seem to be able to find a fix - I have tried all of the suggested routes to fix this which makes me think the issues is else were. I have tried the replace htacess option and the systematically changes of line in the htaccess file, also tried replacing the wp-admin and wp-includes files which has been suggested. My testing site has been down since client alerted me on saturday afternoon. Please Help site url is

Hi,

Your WordPress directory should not be in a cgi-bin directory. Please could you move your WordPress installation outside here, and let me know whether you are still seeing this problem?

Thanks for the response - I have moved the wordpress folder to main test folder and now I have the following

Not Found
The requested URL /cgi-bin/wordpress/login.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Ok so quick update - I have got my site back through a combination of restoring backups and a rebuild of the databases
to be honest I'v tried various things over the last 24 hours so I'm not sure quite which fix sorted things

new issues following on from this - now can't update any plugin and the the back-up tool (All-in-one-Migration) won't back-up/work - getting a 'unable to write package' error message. When I try and update any plugins I get a 'failed to write to temporary file' message

I'm getting the same error message now and i'm starting to get very mad
