Hi,

My current forum software (SMF + TinyPortal) generates a HTTP 500 error every time I try to visit it. I've searched through the SMF logs and server error logs, but none contained any info to what the problem might be. Is there any log that actually keeps info on the details of these HTTP errors (that I can access)?

I'm pretty sure the problem lies within TinyPortal, because I just installed that package yesterday, but I have no way to disable it without access to the SMF admin page...

Sincerely,

I took a quick look, you got some file permissions wrong.

Having them as 777 on a file, or folder, that you are accessing with the browser will cause that error. 777 means world writable, which is a security problem.

In general files should have 644, and folders 755. Only rarely do any script need them to be 777.
