all right it seems to be fixed. just for my edification what was the prob? cause i was told it was a MySQL error by the last server i was on but was told it wasn't on this one.

Public_html may be deleted, JUST aslong as you have
_private
_vti_bin
_vti_cfn
_vti_log
_vti_pvt
_vti_txt
cgibin

Rename .htaccess in /www (/public_html), to .htaccess2 and then try. Its possible you have a dodgy htaccess file. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DELETE WWW OR PUBLIC_HTML!
