I have been able to upload a file. Not sure if the issue is fixed, or it just worked this one time.

Actually, the issue seems not to be fully fixed, as today I am getting the error:
Response: 553 Can't open that file: Disk quota exceeded
Error: Critical file transfer error

This is not a server issue, but an issue with your account. You are over your disk quota, mostly due to the fact that you have over 400,000 files stored on your account.

We have a hard limit of 50,000 files on our free hosting service, to protect against abuse.

I was unaware of the limitation on the number of files.
I did request unmetered disk space a few weeks ago, because maps use a lot of space, and are stored in a lot of files in order to save bandwidth (as this way users only need to download the pieces of the maps that they need).
In order to stay under 50.000 files I would need to delete the 2 lower levels of detail of the maps, resulting in maps 1/8th the detail.
This is really bad news, as I've been working several weeks to process the maps at the finest detail that the source imagery by NASA allowed.
I guess there is no alternative for a free account, right?

Not if you're unwilling (or unable, which is likelier for mobile) to make your high-rez tiles larger, no. (Making them 4x4 at the current resolution would get the file numbers back down, at the cost of making every tile 16x as large.) And if you go to Premium, you'd be unable to use the automated backup (which is limited to 75K inodes/10GB for processing time), although you would be good to go otherwise.

Not exactly. There's also a hard limit on inodes on premium. Our normal, baseline Infinity plans are capped at 300,000 inodes.

Ok, so even paid hosting is not an option. I'll just start deleting the levels 8 and 9 of the maps, and once below the threshold I'll regenerate the maps with 1024x1024 tiles. That should leave it to under 30k (much bigger) images. Let's see if at that size the maps are usable at all...

Paid hosting is an option, as long as you're below 300,000 files. I'm in no way trying to just upsell you to Premium, but if you want small-ish sized maps, you'd need it.

Hi, just so you know: I have just finished re-processing all the images (15 days, uff!), with tile sizes of 1024x1024 and, apart from having a very reasonable number of images, I think it still works reasonably fast (thanks to the amazing speed that recently x10hosting has got). Thanks for your suggestions and help.
