For paypal when you buy something like a domain, even if you don't have a credit card or bank account but you have money inside can you still buy something?

(Sounds like a run-on sentence)

yes, you can do that, if there's enough funds in the pypal account you can shop without creditcard.
Paypal always extracts from the account first, and only withdraws from a credit card if the funds are not enough.

But when I tried to sell something on ebay it asked me for a credit card number and the other info. If I didn't give them the info they wouldn't let me sell it.

Edit: Sorry for the confusion, I used another account. Don't worry I won't be switching credits.

for selling on ebay they might have implemented a rule that you must have a verified paypal account, something you'd be able to get by entering a credit card to the account for instance.
I've never tried selling anything using paypal as payment method so I have no experience on that and hence can't give a definite answer to weather it can be done or not.

the initial question was about buying things with paypal without having an credit card, and that is possible.

Well, the answer to your question is actually yes and no.

Why? Because as far as I am aware, to have 'PayPal money' in your PayPal account, you need a bank account to be linked to your PayPal account (Unless someone sends you money).

So when you go to buy a domain for example, you are correct in that you do not need to enter any banking details to complete the PayPal transaction. You just:

- Go to the checkout page on the domain registrar's website, select PayPal as your payment method

- Enter your PayPal username and password and login

- Then PayPal will tell you it is deducting the money to pay for the domain from your PayPal balance - this is your 'PayPal money'.

- Simple as that.

I can put money in the paypal account without actually linking the bank account, I can do it the same way I'd pay any (domestic) bill, that might be different in other counties though (would take a few days before the balance gets updated in paypal though).

So just to put this in final and simple words. You don't need a credit card or bank account to buy a domain if you already have Paypal account money stored right?

Note: I don't want to get a x10 payment and then not being able to use it because i don't have a credit card or bank account. Just want to double and check.

yes, you can buy a domain without having a credit card, as long as the domain seller doesn't require you to have a verified paypal account, then you sort of need either of them... Don't think it is common though that a seller requires it
