Accidentally made forum account first

I accidentally registered on the forum first, meaning my hosting is not bound to it since it assumes you need to register there first and you haven't gone on the forum yet. My username for hosting is the exact same (sans capitals) as my forum name, so if anyone can fix that up, that'd be great.

Admins are working on relinking stuff. Soon you will be able to do this linking stuff manually. Till then Enjoy!

If you have not yet signed up for the hosting account, you should be able to login at http://x10hosting.com/control with your forum details, and from there go to sign-up for hosting. The hosting account will then be linked to your forum account.

I mean as in, I did register for the hosting, but after I registered on the forum. You can't link an account already registered. I think that system should be changed to be a "insert your forum username/password" system like on some other hosts.

I did a similar "mistake": I did setup a hosting account and then immediately went to the forum where I setup a forum account with the same name/email to satisfy the "visit forum" terms. But doing it this way they are obviously not linked

I cannot create a forum account with the same name: already used.
I cannot create a forum acount with a differnt name: email adress in use.
I cannot open a support ticket for it, because I have no linked forum account.
If nothing happens, my hosting account will be deleted in 2 weeks.

I'll try to delete my forum account now to be able to recreate it from the panel.

Hi joban123,

There is no need of creating forum account. Just sign-up for new hosting account and while signing up give this forum account for linking purposes. instead of creating new one.

Tried to create a new hosting account: same domain is not possible (thats what I thought).
Have not found a way to delete my old hosting account. How would I do that?
Tried to create a hosting account with a different doamin but same email address is not possible

Do I really have to setup another email address and use another domain for this to work???

Yes you can use the same domain if it is not taken by anyone else.

Yes, it has been discussed to change the behavior, can't say when/if it will be changed though.

Yes, I could change the new hosting account to that domain without errormessage after using another domain for the original account.
And I could see the new uploaded files when using this domain for ftp.
But the html pages where never displayed via http (waited ~10min after success msg, should I have waited longer?)

Now I have a new account (joban321) with new email and new domain. That worked, including the forum link. Maybe in two weeks, when the first account got deleted due to no forum activity I can try again to get what I really wanted...
