I figured out how to login with my primary account.
However,
I added another ftp user, and changed the password of that user to something else. The ftp won't accept the new password. 530 error.

Hi pman626x,

When you create a FTP account in cPanel, the username you would login with is suffixed with an @ symbol, and then your main domain name.

For example, if my main domain name is "deadi.x10.mx" and I created an account called "mywebsite", I would login with "mywebsite@deadi.x10.mx" as the username.

i did that. There are connection instructions next to the new ftp user123, and I followed the instructions.
but it won't accept the new password I created for user123.
It will take my admin user's cpanel password, but I can't create a separate password for user123.

Could you please paste the error message you get from the ftp client, with the preseeding few rows as well?

I created another user and deleted the problematic one.

now it works.
