Scratch this whole post; read both threads, but for Update, only first post is needed

In summary, after you've read the update thread and that you've checked that your server has completed all 3 passes, you are then allowed to post a support ticket to have a staff member look at your account and restore your files.

If you at this point have files missing, please do submit a ticket, if you haven't already, and we can restore them for you.

If possible, provide information on what files(s) are missing, or if you need a full restore of public_html (or anything else).

on the IRC, the staff said that corey isn't updating the "Update" topic anymore, so that everyone can submit a ticket if needed so.
