Hi Anna,
Likewise, I'm also having the same issue. Having spent several hours trying to troubleshoot it, I'm hoping in the end this is no different from the other users in the forum.

Thanks in advance!

I will request an administrator look into your account. You have not signed in for 2 months, and the requirement for x10Hosting free is one login every 30 days. Accounts with no login after an additional 21 days are terminated and deleted. This is what happened to your site. Backups were made because of the unrelated transfer to DirectAdmin, but those backups are now being deleted since the transfer has been complete for a long time now. The admin team will advise you of your account status when they see this post.

The account is properly located on the server when I check right now.

In your case the problem is related to a redirect to https, the best course of action would be to remove that. You can turn on ssl for the domain and it would load up the site, but you would be using the server cert which would present your users with an error since that does not match your domain.

Free hosting does not support adding your own cert at this time.

Understood. I paused Cloudflare on my site to see if that was causing the conflict (as I had SSL selected). Now when I visit my site I'm seeing this error: "You cannot visit apdap.ca right now because the website uses HSTS. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later."

The error seems to be caused by a conflicting certificate from x10 that's causing my site to write itself as https. Is there any way around this? I re-wrote my wordpress url in the database as http rather than https.

I've also added an http re-write to my htaccess file, but I'm still being forced to an https url - despite having requested an http url. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Looks like the actual redirect come from within wordpress. Wordpress always use the configured domain, so if it is configured with https it will use that and do an internal redirect.

See this article for how to change that: https://wordpress.org/support/article/changing-the-site-url/

I have turned on ssl on your domains, using https will now show domains but give an error about certificate as it will use the server certificate but if you are going through CloudFlare it will help keep the encryption between cloudflare and our server as well, and with cloudflare enabled endusers should not see any errors as they see the cert from cloudflare.

DirectAdmin handles https requests diffrently from cPanel, it actually allows for having different content on http (using public_html) and https (using private_html) which is why it has to be turned on for the server to show anything on https rather then the default message. By default private_html is a symbolic link to public_html and thus showing the same content, but that is configurable.

It looks like I might have screwed things up royally by trying to restore a backup from Softaculous. Would it be possible to have the site restored as it was earlier today? Much appreciated.

Whatever is possible would be appreciated - sort of freaking out here as the entire site appears to no longer be working. If possible to use the transfer to DirectAdmin backup you restored earlier today, as listed above "Backups were made because of the unrelated transfer to DirectAdmin, but those backups are now being deleted since the transfer has been complete for a long time now" - that would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Garret was a bit misinformed, the accounts we have backups of, that are easily available was of those that got terminated after having been inactive, they do present some of the same problem you initially had so he thought it was due to that. Yours was however never one of the deleted ones.

Of course we would have been able to sort you out anyways, but it would have been a bit more delayed as I would have had to ask higher admin to transfer that package onto the server first (I can access databases from the old servers though).

Glad to hear you got it resolved in the end anyways.
