Three years ago , I was an active user on x10 , I've always loved the great services you guys give . However , in the past year I wasn't that active . and my account was gone .
Today , I thought of registering a new account here , and that was the message I got :
"Due to continued abuse from your country of origin we have currently disabled signups."

You know probably this post won't exist at the next 24 hours , that's because you guys are so democratic (and here Im talking about the admins of this site) you are so democratic , they only keep the voices they want others to here , voices which give their site a 'good image'

So , if you dare not to delete this post , why did you block registrations from my Country ?

P.S : if I really wanted to make an account , believe me there are tons of Proxies/VPN services which I can use to signup , but I really hated the message I got with all the glowing red back and all these hurtful words !

I hope my message is delivered .

It is not a message aimed to you as a person, but the fact is that a large percentage of the users signing up from your country has done so and abused the service provided.

Some by either "just" uploading content that does not comply with our ToS, others, and which is a much worse case, upload things that are illegal by US law and would cause us as a company damage and in many cases extra costs in getting our servers removed from various blacklists, commonly when a user decided to use us for sending a large quantity of spam emails.

We're aware that this action has the side effect of affecting users with perfectly legit reasons for needing hosting, but from a business perspective there's no sane way to allow users from a country known for having abusive users in the past with the costs that comes with cleaning that up.

You can read more about it here: http://x10hosting.com/forums/useful-information/166022-country-restrictions.html

I'm pretty sure it's a political reason , and has nothing to do with abusing the service .
Large companies like Adobe , Source Forge , Google(Chrome , Play ...) , Play Now (SE Service) And many many other services are already blocked for political reasons .

There are some cases where US sanctions would make it illegal for us to provide service, not sure if your country falls into that category. For those that fall into that category the accounts are terminated immediately when we find them should they managed to get past the registration block in the first place. Doing otherwise would be illegal so we don't really have a choice on that one.

That would be the only thing that could fall under a political reason, and they are a small portion of the actual countries blocked from registration.

Well , they could at least apologize for not having permission to allow registrations from my country , like saying : "We're sorry for the inconvenience"
that would be less hurtful .

Anyway , thanks for the replies Anna
