Hi,

When I heard that ASP.net works now with MYSQL I registered again here.
But now I can't even get ASP.net working!
I read that I have to add MIME types to the .htaccess file, but I can not manipulate it!
There's no button for MIME types in the cPanel to change it. I also installed the Frontpage extension. The errors change from time to time... this is weird! First something was wrong with the web config (I didn't change anything), but

at the moment I get the following error when I want to access my website:
Server Error in '/' Application

Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Description: HTTP 500. Error processing request.
Stack Trace:
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetPrecompiledType (System.String virtualPath) [0x00000] at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetPrecompiledApplicationType () [0x00000] at System.Web.HttpApplicationFactory.InitType (System.Web.HttpContext context) [0x00000]
Version information: Mono Version: 2.0.50727.1433; ASP.NET Version: 2.0.50727.1433

Does anybody have a solution for this problem?

THX

you should assume that asp.net does not work until the X10 staff make an official post stating that it works and that they post a FAQ on how we should use it...

Until then, assume it does not work...

zen-r: there's nothing saying it will work on other servers just because it is sorted on one server. hansruedi could be on a different server which suffers problems with asp.net.

hansruedi: Since not a lot of the people that read the forums have access to the server setup, you might have better luck with a support ticket, as this might very well be something a tech needs to look at. Also since there doesn't appear to me as you have a hosting account linked with your forum account, you should provide information about you cPanel nick and domain for easier, and faster, handling of your ticket.

Unless it doesn't work with MYSQL, I don't need to open a support ticket just have asp.net working. Thanks for your help I will have to find an other host.

OK, sorry - I probably didn't make my post very clear.

When I said "mixed messages" I meant that we have had a few posts in the last couple of days where people have been told that problems with "x" server have been sorted (sometimes by a reboot), only for similar problems to apparently return again a short time later. Stoli has also been one of those servers affected this way.

So it's hard to tell the current state of play : whether the fixes are still working, or whether another problem needs reporting.

Judging by this site ; http://x10staff.co.cc/status , Chopin may at the moment also be in need of some attention, though the status page isn't always accurate. :)

@hansruedi - you should stick with x10, because these issues are only temporary, & the service is usually very good. And yes, ASP.NET should be available here.

I think you will find far more problems to deal with at any other of the free hosts out there, & the Support here can't be beaten! ;)
