In my eyes, the daily running of the site is more reliant on databases for important data and articles, threads etc.

Speed up, and daily MySQL backup, monthly data.

Sound great to me!
After all, we are supposed to be responsible for our own backing up.

Generally when stuff like this happens they fix it within a few hours. Just be patient (This is pure speculation).

This data loss happened to me on Lotus the other day. The databases were rolleb back by about 2 months. It just corrected itself after an hour or so. The link from MySQL to accounts was broken, so the server defaulted back to the latest working one, in my case, 2 months prior.
