Hello.

I was very surprised when I logged on to my x10hosting account to see that I was apparently banned. However, there was no reason given for the suspension and I'm very concerned as to why. I know this may be against the forum rules of posting about being banned, but this was quite a shocker.

It simply says, "Your web hosting account was closed due to abuse. Please contact support.
Please get in touch with us if this is a mistake."

I'm really unsure of what the cause was. Thank you for your time.

Same here in relation to my hosting account here; the last actions I was doing on the account was taking care of some email correspondence as well as file management on the backend. I seriously hope it's just a system error because I'm not able to get into cPanel because of this said roadblock.

Have you tried checking your IP address to see if it's been added to any blocklists? You can check at http://whatismyipaddress.com/blacklist-check - and note that if you're using a mobile connection or public access point, you may currently be using an IP address that has been used by someone else recently to, well, act like a less-than-responsible netizen.

Neither of your accounts are suspended. Additionally, when I visit your domains, I see your site and not any other form of error/suspended page. Ensure you are logging into https://x10hosting.com/sso/login instead of directly to your cPanel.

I too seem to of been banned - I'm not sure if this is a glitch going around/a system error

I really hope that this is just a glitch. I don't remember doing anything that would cause my account to get suspended.

Yeah, that's what I did; logging in from that page you specified and not straight to my related account's cPanel. I tried it again using a different connection; ran into the same "hosting account closed due to abuse" error message. Meaning I can't get to the cPanel area of my account to check for any email correspondence that I may have received on my hosting account itself.

Hello polarit3 and mcmmsagh,

It looks like you have previously owned a hosting account with us, and that account was suspended because it was used for malicious purposes. These were permanent account suspensions.

Please let us know if you feel that this is incorrect.

No, that's not true in terms of my hosting account Dead-i; the hosting account I have is the only one I have and I have no knowledge of it being used in a "malicious" way. As I stated earlier, the last actions I did were from last night as I was dealing with email correspondence on that account as well as doing some file management.

@Dead-i I am very confused and I have not uploaded malicious files or used it in a malicious manner. I just simply updated the CSS of one of my webpages yesterday. I was also told that my account was not suspended and everything was still operating correctly. I strongly feel that this is a glitch since this has affected a good amount of users all of a sudden.

Please reconsider this decision since I strongly feel I have done nothing wrong in this instance.

if x10hosting "thinks" you previously had a hosting account with them - and that account was terminated because it was used for malicious purposes - they will (have) terminate your current hosting account with them

Please try to sign in again and if the message persists, let us know. We've just released an update that reduced the aggressiveness of the detection system.

Hello. The exact same thing has happened to me as reported by the first two members in the thread. Also, as they reported, I can not log in to my account to try to view the reason or correct it. I just get the message:

"There is a problem with your request
Your web hosting account was closed due to abuse. Please contact support.
Please get in touch with us if this is a mistake."

There has been no known abuse or malicious activity or even inactivity on my account, nor have I received any notifications that it would be closed or suspended. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could investigate and fix this. Thanks in advance.

[Edit: Also, I have never had a previous account with X10. This seems to be a reason suggested for other account closings.]

And, exactly the same thing happened to me as well. Any help would be appreciated.

Please try now. We've made some additional changes this afternoon that should resolve this for most others.

If you are still receiving the message please sent me a private message with your username, domain, or email address so that I can look into it further. I haven't been able to locate some of your accounts from the responses here, as it seems some of your forum accounts aren't linked to a hosting account.
