Update:

Apparently they are using the same method as they used with Live Search, & are bribing people to use Bing by offering cashback on purchases. Sounds like desperation!

Much to my surprise though, this review of Bing takes a look at some of it's new features such as the Preview facility, & concludes that Bing is actually reasonably good :eek4: ;

Some interesting points in it include the problem of porn displaying during Preview, & how Bing is reliant on Wikipedia for its reference section. It's a shame MS recently announced that due to the recession/ cut-backs it is abandoning various software in its range, including the Encarta encyclopaedia. So that means we will now have access to less of the reliable, professionally researched facts, & instead will have a greater reliance on more dubious Wiki facts made up by amateurs & jokers. :sad:

I quite like Wikipedia, but I always take everything I read there with a pinch of salt.

If I want to hear dubious facts made up by amateurs and jokers, I can always come here & listen to ichwar. :biggrin:

Now for my latest Update:

Bada Bing, Bada Bong has fixed their dodgy Preview Window, which would previously automatically display the video content of a website as you passed your mouse over the window - even if it contained uncensored adult material!

They have now transferred all that sort of material over to a separate server. This allows schools etc. to block access to that server. Unfortunately, as someone pointed out, it also means that Micro$oft is now in effect providing a dedicated porn portal! Oh how Micro$oft's standards have fallen! Lol.

I quite like Wikipedia, but I always take everything I read there with a pinch of salt.

If I want to hear dubious facts made up by amateurs and jokers, I can always come here & listen to ichwar. :biggrin:

I don't know anything about bing other than that it prolly won't be as good as Google.:dunno:

Sadly, Microsoft is just giving Live Search a "face lift" and they are indeed trying to out do not only Google but also Firefox.

With my FF addons I get previews with Google, bad sites are listed, malware sites are blocked, the list goes on.

I once (when Bill still owned MS) worked there and this is just another of their failed attempts to try and be #1 again, they are only #1 in OS sales (please don't confuse that statement with #1 in quality ), though I will give them credit for their Xbox360.

Bill had the right of it to get out and move on imho.

bing is just another try by MS to catch up... it never outperforms any of the existing search engines
