Hello

I have a small dissappointment I want to share... My website has been banned on Facebook due to inappropriate content... Now this is definitely something that I strongly dissagree with...

To make a long story short, the link to my webpage doesn't work when clicked from Facebook... (anymore). Any ideas of how this can be combated???
:rant2::rant2: :rant2:

Anyone more out there in my position? :nuts:

Best regards,
//Uplinked... (if I didn't know better I'd think that it was an insult to my nickname... *lol*)

Yes. Go to www.co.cc and sign up for a free account.

Make a domain, and set it as a redirect domain.

If you click the new domain, you'll be redirected to the site you specify when you set up the domain.

If you need any more help, let me know :)

Sorry, don't know what happened there-it came out twice =S

Facebook tends to ban URL's that get posted a lot, and it sees all x10's sub-domains as same domain. So if a 100 or 200 post their links the same day, facebook's spamfilter detects it like 1 site is spammed 200 times. Not much we can do about, except trying to convince Facebook to check sub-domain instead of domain, because for them name.x10hosting.com is the same as x10hosting.com

Hmm, yes, I myself find it quite difficult to convince Facebook to check subdomains. It is hence easier for me to do as stpvoice recommended... =) But it is definitely an improvement option worth considering for Facebook! Thank you for the explanation...

Btw, now, another issue emerges... does Facebook check the subdomains of co.cc??? :eek4:

eventually they might, however co.cc is probably more widely known and used (as it can be used at other hosts as well), so they might have been convinced to see that as a domain of its own, and hence treat the sub domains under it as separate domains.

I've been using co.cc on facebook for a while now, and they haven't flagged anything yet to my knowlege. In fact, I use co.cc as an actual path to my main site, as the name is quite a lot to type in. lol. :)

Glad for both your comments, I'll surely give it a try... =)
Edit:
Ok, I registered an account at hostzi.com... but cannot get it redirected to x10hosting from neither control panels. It won't accept the redirect at hostzi, it accepts it here but it does not work...

Any ideas of why?

hostzi.com is a subsidiary of an alternative web host provider. You won't be able to do what you are trying to do with that. Unless you really don't wanna use x10Hosting, and want to switch to an alternative hosting provider, of course.

Can somebody please tell me if ns01.000webhost.com and ns02.000webhost.com can be included in the dns here and how?

I want to create an account on hostzi.com with the same username, but cannot do that untill tomorrow...

I have it added as a parked domain here already.

Will this resolve my problem? Happy for feedback...

I tried uplinked.netai.net, not cc. Do you think that it makes a difference?

Anyways, I have a domain there but couldn't redirect to uplinked.x10hosting.com, where I have it as a parked domain...

Any suggestions? =)

co.cc is actually redirects themselves, so x10 are completely out of the loop. You just create a free co.cc domain, click set up, click redirect domain, enter where you want it to redirect too, and hey presto-a redirect domain.

I recommend you try it.

Put this in a index.html file:

HTML:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<html>
<head>
<title>Your Page Title</title>
<meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0;url=http://uplinked.x10hosting.com"></head><body></body>

Well, hehe, I managed to create a free domain at co.cc after all and am now waiting for the redirect to work... :biggrin:

Thank you, this should work.

Do I still need the refresh?
