The title pretty much explains it. I'd like to know if it's possible to use server-side tech besides PHP here - perhaps C/C++ (think those can be executed on a server via CGI) or Python or Perl or, well, any CGI? I think I heard somewhere that it was disabled on the free servers due to abuse...was that true in the first place, and if so, is it still true?

PHP is currently the only supported option.

Sometimes, if they are working on the servers, Perl and/or Python are enabled due to oversights. But eventually they are disabled.

Thank you for the quick response. I am wondering because I'm coding a piece of software with a friend, and the software is probably going to be in Python... I'd rather not move to a different host to get it working, but looks like that's what I'll need to do. :(

Our premium hosting supports Python.

However not daemonized python, such as with Django.
