I’m a neophyte when it comes to anything here so be patient with me. I’m getting a forbidden message when I try to view my domain directory where I didn’t have that issue before, and neither of my two sites are working anymore.

im pretty sure the server is x12.x10hosting, my domain is hartington.x10.mx both the databases I use still have all the info in them according to the file manager, but for some reason they aren’t displaying. I didn’t change anything, this all seems to have happened recently. Any help/info would be appreciated.

There are two things causing your issues.

The first is that directory listings are turned of by default with directadmin while cpanel (older versions) had them on by default, your account was probably created with a cPanel version that had them on seeing as it is a few years old.
The solution for this is to either edit the .htaccess adding this line "Options +Indexes" (no quotes), or create an index.html file from which you create links to the contents of public_html.

The other would be that your scripts uses and old and outdated method for accessing the database, to sort this you wuld either have to update the scripts to use pdo_mysql or mysqli connections or swicth to an older version of php. You find the option for the later under "Extra Features" in DirectAdmin. Updating the scripts is recommended for security, but you may have to start with an older php version to achieve that.
