Cant CHMOD any file in my account

I cannot change permission of any file in my account. Can anyone help me please???

Are you trying to change permssions to 777?
If so, I do not think that permission is permitted on free hosting.
As an alternative, please use 755 which has a very similar effect.

No No, I am not trying to change to 777. i could not access to any file in my account. It says all the files are Read Only. I could not edit even my Index.html. Please help me. I edited .htaccess file once. I just deleted everything in it. I should not have done that. Please help me....

What are you trying to edit your files with? FTP? cPanel? PHP?
