Changing Ports in XAMPP

How can you change ports in xampp because the port 80 on my isp has blocked it so I want it changed to 8080, 8000, etc.

I'd have no idea, but you can try using Port Triggering in your router if you have one. That way, you can leave the app on Port 80, but the router will take requests from a specific port and simply translate it over to the Port 80.

Well, in that case, you'll need to edit Apache's httpd file in XAMMP.

1: Shut down XAMMP and make sure it is fully closed.
2: Open the conf.httpd file in notepad and locate the Listen directitive values for Apache. They should be something such as "Listen 80"
3: Change the listen ports to another port, or add a value saying "Listen <portnumber>" to add another port for Apache to listen to requests for.
4: Save the file
5: Restart XAMMP
6: ???

I have already done that. Also when I do the port thing do I also do it for 12.34.56.78:80 to make it 12.34.56.78:8080?

Could you post up the section of the config file where you're seeing that? I believe that's where Apache needs to be set up to know what IP the server is on for it to begin listening to incoming connections. If that is set to 127.0.0.1:80, I'm almost betting that's what I'm thinking of as XAMMP by default should be set to run under localhost only. Post up the code though so I can see where you're looking at, either that or PM it.

EDIT: I'm guessing you're looking at VirtualHost section, right? If so, just fill in the values for that like above. I may be wrong though, so back up the config file someplace first.
