I would like to close my account and I do not see an option for this on the site.

Correct, there's no way to automatically have your account terminated, a support ticket is needed (which this would count as).

Before we hit terminate please confirm the account you want terminated by providing its cPanel user name, and clearly state that you have all backups you might need.
