hi there,

firstly this is a great service you offer, anyway i would like to ask a question.

do you offer .com domains that i can purchase?

secondly if you don't would you allow me to purchase a .com domain from example godaddy to use on my website. i am currently using the free webspace package you offer.

and finally if i do use a .com domain from godaddy is it possible to do a domain mask? as in hide the current link to my website? please see the example below of what i mean.

current address bar example: http://example.x10hosting.com/folder1/folder2/index.html - what the site users see in the address bar when accessing my website

what i want users to see when they go to my site in the address bar: http://www.mysite.com

thanks for your time,

ross

Yes, Your domain is allowed to use on X10.

You have to set the name servers

ns1.x10hosting.com
ns2.x10hosting.com

Then you can add your domain as your parked domain in CPanel

OR

Make it primary domain in account Panel

The change of name servers may take 24 to 48 hrs to propagate.

x10Hosting does not offer you to buy domains through us.

You can however use any domain you have purchased through godaddy (or other domain registrar).

Don't think you can use domain masking, but you'd end up with a scenario where your address bar would show http://www.mysite.com/folder1/folder2/index.html (if set as main or parked domain)

or http://www.mysite.com/folder2/index.html if you set it as add on domain and let the add on domain point to the folder "folder1"

If you registered your domain at godaddy it will take about an hour or less for the dns servers to change. my domain is from godaddy and the xfer is pretty quick. I think it took like 10 -15 mins for it to xfer to x10 dns. I think the TTL on the SOA is very short. thats why dns updates fast on godaddy domains.
