Cpanel for Cossacks Server down

Troubles started after I tried to use WinSCP to connect to the FTP it seems

I don't think you have shell access. Maybe the firewall blocked you.. Can you try going to the cPanel via http://hidemyass.com a proxy?

Also how do you enable fopen? I'm using ocPortal and it needs fopen to work apparently..

I am not sure what that is but it might be disabled for security reasons.

Hi,

I have unblocked your IP address. You should be able to access cPanel now.
In future please do not try accessing the server using WinSCP or another SSH client, as you will probably be blocked again.

There have been several members who have complained that their IPs have been blocked.
I don't think people believed them. They were told to clear DNS, etc, etc.

So, x10hosting does block some IPs.

Yes, there are automated systems in place to protect the servers from attacks. The OP probably triggered one by repeatedly trying to login using WinSCP.

So, if this happens to another member, how do they find out that their IP is in fact blocked?

Generally if they can't access the server directly, but it works find through a proxy, they are blocked. Although they should flush DNS first to make sure.
