Hi,

i have my website files on an archive which is a cPanel full backup in tar.gz format. I was told any host will be able to restore the account. Can you confirm the procedure for sending it to restore the backup which is on a compact disc format. As the CPanel backups have to be restored from the root account i cannot upload it using FTP.

Thank you.

I'm sorry, let me make sure I understand you. You have a CPanel backup, generated by CPanel, and you need X10 to load your backup?

I understand some hosting providers charge a fee, so want to know how much it cost?
Or is there any other hosting providers that don't charge for it.
I tried to upload it via FTP, but didn't work.

Free hosting accounts have the cPanel Backup Wizard disabled right now, so you cant use the wizard to restore your files, but don’t worry, you can still restore manually from a full backup.

Start by transferring the public_html directory of your backup to the same directory on your hosting.

If you have databases, probably they are in the mysql folder of your backup in *.sql format. These can be imported using phpMyAdmin in cPanel.
