cPanel username not linked

Hi and help me please,
cpanel username appears not to be linked to hosting account (or anything else!)
My passwrod seems ok and I have changed it to check functionality.
USERNAME in cPanel is my problem.

Can I change my hosting username as well?

User name can not be changed.

Note that you hosting (cPanel) username does differ from your forum user name. You can see the details regarding your hosting account in the account panel (https://x10hosting.com/control), just log in there using the same credentials as here at the forums.

Thank you but it did not work. It might be that my Forum username is too long (>8). Can I change that? How? It might be a corrupted file in my home part of the server. Can that be reset? How? Or, can I delete my client account (and start again)? How? I don't mind losing the files that I have uploaded as I have copies. I would like to use the same domain name if possible, but it is not that important. Thanks for your help.

are you saying you can not login to the account panel with your forum user name? Length of user name would not be a problem there.

You should also be able to login to the account panel using your contact e-mail as user name.

There's no option to change forum or hosting user names.

The home part of your server would have absolutely no impact on the ability to login at the control panel.

Note that for cPanel you should use: http://starka.x10hosting.com:2082 and the user name thescrib
