Okay, i'm new to this type of hosting service and webpage publishing altogether. I do have a history of some webpage buildings and i was wondering. Do any of you guys/girls have any kool web page tips to help me "pimp" out my bands' website?...[i.e. kool flash objects, widgets, awesome backgrounds, the whole nine yards, etc.] My band decided on going with a dark theme. So far i have for the basic colors, black for the background, blue for the outline glow of our band logo, and white for the text. Also which might help me a bit, I do use dreamweaver CS3, along with the entire CS3 suite [Adobe Master Collection CS3], and I have been wanting to make a website through the new but crappy power of Microsoft Office Word 2007. I heard it wasent too bad and I kinda like it. It's not nearly as awesome as Dreamweaver and FrontPage, but its okay, I get what I want out of it and I would like to solve my problem of getting widgets or even straight HTML coding to work on my MS Word '07 site. If anyone can help me and my band to help us rock online [besides the power of Xbox Live] That would be great. Thanks

In terms of "pimping" out your site, you can try CGI scripts and using some Javascript to your needs. If your site was in PHP then it would be loads better. There are loads of sites out there that offer codes for scripts and tell you how to insert it into the web page. In terms of flash, I wouldn't know many cool things that you can just go around and embed besides video players, but if you have skill with Adobe Flash and you have the program, by all means see if you can make something and then embed the SWF.

For quick and easy ways, you could always try Wordpress. Though Wordpress powered sites are a bit harder to set up and are more complex, it gives you a blog like site that allows for many plugins.

For audio streaming, I wouldn't know off the top of my head. Xbox Live's audio quality is only made for voice, hence the low bitrate it uses, along with every other voice chat service, so I wouldn't know besides trying to set up a Shoutcast type service, unless you wish to stick with voice chat music.

Re: Creating my band website... & Hosting problems

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it very much. However i am dumping word altogether and i am using a PHP/HTML site powered by Dreamweaver CS3, I thought it would be much easier. Also I have some good experience with flash and have made some stellar SWF sites. BUT, I do have one "pain in the ass" problem; I signed up for corporate ad enhanced webhosting from X10 Hosting, and It said that Im still in the queue after THREE DAYS!!! Why's That? I need to upload some introduction CSS style sheets and other stuff so I can preview my Flash Navigation menu. Should I just still wait longer, or do i need to make another hosting that’s free of ads?...

okay, im really starting to get pissed now. Here's what I am seeing when I log into my hosting account on x10hosting.com:
"In order to use the Ad-Enhanced hosting account management panel, you must have your forum account linked to your hosting account.
Please enter your cPanel username below, you will receive an E-mail with further instructions. Be sure to have the same E-mail address registered with your cPanel account that your forum account has!"

I did enter both my fourm account username along with my x10hosting account, but it says that my specified username doesnt exsist?!?!?!?!?! Someone please help me!!!!!
